add tanx to both sides: sin x = tan x

sinx / 1 = sinx / cosx

This is true if 1 = cosx since the tops are the same, and if sinx = 0 since 0/anything but zero will equal zero.

So answer = 0, pi, -pi, 2pi, -2 pi, etc or just n(pi) where n is an integer

sin x - tan x = 0
<=> sin x (1 - 1/cos x) = 0
<=> sin x = 0 or cos x = 1
But if cos x = 1, sin x = 0, so we can just say sin x = 0.
<=> x = kπ for any integer k.
