i own a shop, and yes it is,the cold will drain the power from it,i tell you what you can do to help it though, get some kind of a wrap to put around the battery and it will keep some of the cold off of it,if you can knock at least 10-20 degrees off of it ,this will help it keep its charge,i was in Michigan for a while attending school ,and i did this to my truck it got cold up there and my truck wasn't used to that kind of temperature, but it does help it,its like us needing a blanket when its cold, good luck with it i hope this helps.

BRRRRRRRR
Yeah, when it's that cold the voltage of the battery decreases and the oils and fluids get thicker also.

What we did, with great success, was to take an old army blanket and open the hood and put in a drop light with a 100W bulb in by the engine and place the blanket over the top of the engine and close the hood.

In the morning, we would open the hood and remove the light and blanket, get in the car and it started right up and the heater was warm before you knew it..

good luck, stay warm

my only 2 suggtions are 1) purchace a battery warmer at your local auto parts store, 2) move to anywhere else warmer.but you may have to park closer to an electrical outlet.
but yes, batteries do not deal with the cold that well. the water in them has a tendancy to freeze, expand and crack a case thereby spilling all or most of the important electrolite onto your frame and the ground below.

They have electric block heaters, and pads to warm your battery. Might help.

A map showing Arizona would be better, in my opinion! Cripes, that's incredibly cold.

I left my S-10 pickup for two weeks, the temps got to 8 degrees ABOVE, and the battery literally froze. Hasn't really been the same since.
