Would it be a better idea to watch the show Twin Peaks first, or the movie, Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me?

Ive heard that the movie is like a prequel, but ive read that it not. What should I watch first? (I have access to seasons 1and 2 and the movie).

For all its puzzling strangeness, the show is your best starting-point--it lays out the territory and the characters and the situations with (very) relative clarity---
Fire Walk With Me is a little bit like a spiritual post-mortem---it raises the lid on the Pandora's box so you can get an idea of the true swirling craziness that led to the events of the show. Unless you're familiar with the show and the people involved, it can get pretty darn peculiar, with not a lot of payoff.
In any event, good luck, have a piece of pie, and settle in.

Yeah, Fire Walk With Me is NOT a good start off point.

I just love Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne and Madchen Amick who played Shelly.

Fire walk with me came out after the series was over.
In the series they wanted to know who killed Laura Palmer
In fire walk with me it Begins a few days before she was killed
and shows why, (She was no Angel).

I think this is a great movie I own it ,and I liked twin peaks
I even own and listen to the soundtrack Sycamore tree is cool

I am a BIG Twin Peaks fan. Please watch the SHOW FIRST. I think it will ruin it for you if you watch the movie first. Show first.......and you will be glad you did. Awesome TV series!

definitely the show was entertaining, and the movie sucked. regardless, you have to see all the shows first to be able to follow the movie completely!
