Most existential thinkers would accept the idea, although each would have their own minor caveat. Organicists, especially those of late 19th/early 20th century western Russia, might accept the notion as well, though it's been a while since I've read their stuff, so I'm a little rough on them.

I suppose most Objectivists would acknowledge the spirit of the idea, though I'm sure that they would word it differently.
