The answer is D. Because you are dividing how many candies will go into the six bags, then you are dividing how many action figures are going into the bag, and then you are adding to two together to get the total numver of items he will put in each bag.

Divide 6 into 48 = 8. divide 6 into 12 = 2. 6 candies + 2 action figures = 10 items in each bag. 6 bags having 10 items each = 60 items.

You would divide, divide to find out how much.So he would put 8 candles in each bag since 48/6=8 and he would put 2 actiong figures since 12/6=2.

First off, I'm assuming that you meant "candies" instead of "candles" in the first sentence.

The answer is D.

Whenever you want to EVENLY DISTRIBUTE something, you would use the division operator. In this problem, we're doing this with both the candy and the action figures. (Thus -- divide, divide)

In the question part of the answer, the key word is TOTAL. This would suggest adding (+).

Hope this helps...

Sheesh, no imagination. The best way to do this involves adding 48+12, and then dividing by 6.

The correct answer, however, is D.
