I need to write an essay about the decline of western civilization due to kids not using their brains. I would do it but I'm too busy listening to my ipod and playing games on my psp to do such a menial thing as use my brain and actually open a book. Also, can you put something in the essay about declining literacy rates in kids age 12-18? Thanx in advance.

HAHA... that's funny... people are actually answering this question as if you were serious... It is depressing however how very true it is about kids not using their brains and such. This is why there's so many kids out there getting into car crashes and killing people -whether it be from drugs or drinking, or just speeding. Kids today won't take responsibility for their actions. This is why the driving age will keep going up. In CA for example, kids getting their licenses have to wait untill they're 18 now.
Kids being too lazy playing video games and listening to music rather than doing their homework, have 2 people to blame... THEIR PARENTS. Their parents need to be enforcing rules on them, and either NOT buying them all of this garbage, or not allowing them to do any of these activities until their homework is done.

I love your sarcasm, I doubt some people got it though because they seem to seriously think you want them to do your homework. I don't think the world is as bad as you say it is though. Some older people don't even know how to use itunes. And playing video games actually helps with dexterity and you do use your brains to play them. There was actually a study done that found that surgeons who play video games at least 3 hours a week perform better than other surgeons. I didn't know the literacy rates where declining. You may be right, but a lot of kids are reading. At my high school they actually have this Summer reading program where kids get extra credit on their first 6 weeks grade for reading certain books. People like you just have to go out and encourage kids to read. But believe me, if they can play video games and fool around with the computer, they're not that stupid.
