I ordered a new proccesser from newegg and I put it in my computer i start up my computer after I log in it freezes whats wrong?

Apart from any hardware malfuction ......

*** Windows may lock up if it detects hardware changes with the CPU or mainboard.
This is to insure that OEM installed hard drives with Windows are not transferred to non OEM computers.

Unfortunately this also occurs with retail installations of Windows.
Call your PC manufacturer (if OEM) or Microsoft activation line (if Retail) for support.
You may need to reactivate Windows.

Go into your bios and load optimal or safe settings, then reboot. Did you buy a new heatsink/fan with the processor? DId you install it and use the thermal paste? Heat is almost always the culprit in computer freeze-ups.

Log in under Safe Mode and install the new drivers for it or run "Add Hardware" from the Control Panel.
