I need a practical answer that's going to work. Obviously when the kids are asleep, but other than that.

Actually I didn't mean to ask the obvious - so BESIDES locking the door. I guess an answer could be there isn't any other good way but that's what I'm asking. Thanks

My man,
timing is everything. You have to get your kids on a routine. Therefore when they go to bed, it is playtime. Here are some ground rules:
1. DO IT QUIETLY. simple
2. Lock the door.
3. Oil all squeaks
4. Put a pillow between headboard and wall
5. Put a towel on the floor by the door to cover space between floor and bottom of the door.
6. Have Fun. Sneaky sex is the best sex.

Look, I have two kids. The answer is simple. You put them in their room or playroom. Give them some ice cream or something. Put on finding nemo. LOCK YOUR DOOR. You can do this at any time of the day. If you want to have sex in the laundry room, get a lock for the laundry room. If you want to have sex in your car, get a lock for your garage. Of course these sexual adventures in the middle of the day are not going to be long. Maybe 20 minutes tops, cause you never know what kids can get into. So if you want that long romantic thing, you need to wait till they're asleep at night and do it then.

We have a five year old son, and my husband and I never feel uncomfortable about him accidentally seeing. We put him to bed and NEVER go to bed til we are sure he is sound asleep. Whether it winds up happening in bed or elsewhere (of our home) we think ahead to lock the door.
Once, we were.. and our son had come to the door and was knocking on the door. (Now, I don't mean to be funny seriously, our son is legally deaf) He was at the door implying that he wanted to know what was going on. I had come to the door and we told him that daddy was tickling mommy. :P It works, I picked him up and talked with him in his bedroom and before long he was sleeping again. My husband and I enjoyed the rest of the night.
The key is not to worry so much, if it happens it happens. They are not going to be scarred for life, no matter what the loonies might be saying. :P

LOCK YOUR DOOR!
Hire a babysitter and go out for a nice dinner and then go to a nice hotel for some serious love-making. Come on these have never come to mind before?
Drop the kids off at the grandparents or family member if possible for some time alone?

obviously at night with the door shut but then it would become very boring. so try different positions at night on the floor u can have sex standing up if ur wife is not heavy u can be standing up while holding ur wife and she has her legs wrapped around u. u can have sex in the shower while the kids are watching TV quickly do something be creative and u'll c that even ur wife will enjoy being naughty.

It's called sending them to there friends house!! While the kids are away the parents can play....Also lock your bedroom door and have a #1 rule when the door is closed they knock first and ask for permission to enter....

Give the kids a video to watch and tell them you are going to take a nap and then LOCK THE DOOR anytime the mood strikes you. Or jump in the shower together with the door locked.

Well, mabey, you can your wife could both take a day off of work, and then try to have sex. Or mabey if the kids are not old enough to go to school yet, mabey bring them to a day care, or some type of play group such as the YMCA?

Get a lock on the bedroom door. Just run up to home depot and get a new doorknob. It's not that hard. Play some music so they won't hear you.

its very difficult when your young children are around esp when you want to make love with your wife... have them play in their own room, i guess they have their own room. or find a baby sitter and leave them just for a while...just a while...lock your door and then make love to your wife...just an advice...
anyways how old are your children?
children around you all the time is part of parenthood wherein you give most of the time than take the time for yourself...its just normal they are around..
