Too fem for me. I would stick to either Alex or Alexander.

Alexan sounds like either some alien race or a new drug. Alexei is at least Russian hockey player sounding, so definately Alexei.

I like alexan- but I'd be concerned that alexei is too much like "lexi" or "alexa" (girl names)

They are both kind of different. I would choose Alexan but call him alex

Neither think of something that is traditional but not to femine for a boy or vise versa. I would say Alexei if you went outside the box.

they are both good names but if it were me i would pick Alexan.i don't believe Alexei is masculine enough for a boy.
