The curtain rail of course, because without the curtain rail, how would Frankenstein have defeated Dracula in a battle to the death in the suburbs of Los Angeles?

Oh yes, it happened. i watched.

Definitely the curtain. The rail only came after someone decided it might be easier to draw it aside rather than pushing through it.

(What did the Iron Curtain hang on?)

The students around where I live just use tacks to put the curtains up at their windows so I guess the curtains came first.

The curtains obviously! Why would anyone think of putting a rail above a window? Whereas keeping out draughts from the window is obviously why someone would try to cover the window!

curtains!they used to like nail the curtains up or whatever... until they made hooks to put it on. they then decided they could place a rod on top of the hooks and put the curtains on that... THUS, the curtain rod was born! LOL!

defiantly the curtains, the pole would have come second to hold up the curtains, its the initial thought of blocking something out to start of with, then you start to think how to go about hanging them up, talking of curtains its time i went to bed now its quarter past one in morning.
