Apparently, New Orleanians didn't completely forget about federalism...it only took them 19 months to figure out that not everything is a federal issue.

Moltar: That is exactly correct. I wonder how two cities could be hit by the same storm, and yet react sooooooooooo differently.

Oh yeah, now I remember: New Orleans and Lousiana has been run by the Dems since the minute Reconstruction ended.

wisdom: You're obviously one of the people to whom I was referring. Federalism holds that different levels of government have different responsibilities. Defense IS a federal issue. Disaster relief for an area which refuses to help itself is NOT.

Marino: Why do so many blacks see racism in absolutely everything? There was no, repeat NO racism involved in insurance disbursements. There were just as many problems in Mississippi as there were in New Orleans. I guess you missed the stories about the suits regarding flood damage -vs- wind damage.

Marino: You're whining about perceived "racism" and your first name is Marino. I rest my case.

The silence of the cries from Biloxi, MS was deafening.

You didn't see them complaining in the least. They got themselves back on track.

It would have been different if Black people had not been denied and delayed with all their insurance claims.

While the white-run insurance companies were quick to pay their white costumers in Mississippi, they tried by all means at their disposal to delay or refuse payment to Blacks in New Orleans.

If that is not racism, then I don't know what the heck is.

Further, when the government tried to help those who had had their claims denied without basis, they only reached some:

Why is that some people have a problem with the Federal Government rebuilding an American city, yet the Billions we are spending on first devastating, then rebuilding Iraq is just fine?
