No matter how hate filled it is they have a right to freedom of speech... The best thing to do is to ignore them they will do their little march then go somewhere else to bother the next town...

Actually, there have been Supreme Court cases on this very subject. I believe that one of the cases was concerning a march in Skokie, Illinois in the 1970's. What allows them to march is the First Amendment. Free speech. But remember that the Supreme Court has said time and time again that the First Amendment is not absolute. It does not protect such speech that would incite a riot or cause citizens to revolt against the government. Especially in times of war.

The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. An unfortunate side effect of free speech, is that people are free to say pretty stupid things.

Everyone that said Freedom of Speech is WRONG. The 1st amendment also guarantees "the right of the people peaceably to assemble".

Please understand I am NOT a member of the KKK. But they (as all Americans) have the right to FREE speech. Personally I think they should not be allowed to march because of the riots they may entice. Best just to stay away.

This type of thing happens because new york state and new york city are liberal territories and everyone is afraid of violating civil rights. even though the idiot bloomberg says he is a conservative, he is just as liberal and scared as hillary clinton, and will never deny even the rights of the KKK. (im not saying they deserve rights)

why give me a thumbs down? I dont get it. this type of march by the KKK happens because of weak politiacians who are afraid dont take a stand. The only weak politicians I see are liberals, afraid of They're vote being taken away. Who cares about the rights of the KKK! groups like them should be torn apart. they violate civil rights everyday. Thank god we have a president who defends our rights, and tries his best to protect the country.

the first amendment bans prohibitions on free speech. it is their right to be idiots.

the right to free speech is not limitless- some argue that the KKK should be banned, as they are preaching hate. but hate is not illegal; considering existing supreme court doctrine (the way we interpret the 1st amendment, based on supreme court decisions), unless it can be shown that the KKK is intending to start a fight with their words, it can't be banned. they have a right to protest, but they don't have a right to purposefully incite violence.

Free speech and freedom of assembly. 1st Amendment.

As long as they are not making direct threats against individuals and not advocating immediate violence, what they say is protected. So, the govt can't silence them for what they say.
