well, some mammals, like wolves, have been known to do so, for a short while. They are very smart animals. They treat babies like their own kind, domesticating it, and giving it milk, like we would do if we found a stranded puppy!

A young creature's basic needs (food, water, warmth, someone to clean them and cuddle them, etc.) is the same whether you're a human, a wolf, a monkey or a hyena, whatever, so that's how animals are able to care for feral children.
