It always seems like they're shouting or trying to force they're opinion, it's ok when they actually are shouting but when people answer just a normal question it reminds me of an old man who's hard of hearing. Its just one of those petty things that bug me...!

Hello Clevergirl,

It is a little in your face when someone answers in capitals - but my husband likes to use the computer and would not know one end from another end. It took him 5 years to be able to use a mouse - the point I am making is that some people don't understand how to change from capitals to lower case.

So the next time someone answers u in capitals think is he old -he needs to be taught how to use it!!! that would make a change yes..

Take care

In the old days in military communications and Western Union messages all capitals were acceptable because that was all we had. Today we have the Internet and e-mail and, unless a typist is severely handicapped, we ought to use conventional upper and lower-cased characters as appropriate.

Certainly, it's faster to type in all capital letters, but in today's world of instant communications it is viewed as yelling and strong emphasis.

To answer your question: Yes.

It does seem like they're shouting, so unless they are "shouting" their answer, I wish people would stop it. I will do it with one word once in a while if I'm placing a lot of emphasis on that word.

Haha, yea it does bother me a little bit since it is supposed to be like shouting. I like the old man comparison though. Maybe they think we'll only be able to read it if it's in all caps. Who knows.

NO, NOT AT ALL.

Just kidding, really it kind of does. It does seem like shouting.

No i hardly notice . I'm more interested in what they have to say, as long as they communicate their point i 'm not too obsessive about how they say it .
