Emotional affairs/relationships involve so much fantasy, that are the hardest to get over. Remember that a lot of the feelings were created by your expectations and dreams. So you have to change focus, whatever helps you to change to achieve this.

And no contact, no contact, no contact. It is very hard at the beginning, but eventually it will get better

It stops usaully when you never "see" that person anymore. Some people have a hypnotic effect on others and when you just "see" them the torment starts all over again! My ex was a total loser, but when I occasionally ran into them I wanted to be with them all over again! How sick!

Spend your time doing things you truly enjoy doing...get more hobbies. Find pleasure in the small things in life. It's not happy to depend on someone else to make you happy anyway...you need to find it within yourself. Easier said than done, I know, but it is possible.

this is the hardest kind of affair to get over! theres actual feelings involved...not just physical.
First thing is...you HAVE TO WANT to get over it.
Second u have to be willing to cut ALL ties.
Third, you have to tell yourself every moment u find urself thinking about him, that 'im only hurting myself' and actually go over in ur mind WHY u need and want to get over him!
Remember, ur heart lies sometimes...think with ur head instead of ur heart for a change..
best of luck...
keep on keeping on..

isn't easy but just distance yourself from him, no contact at all, get rid of anything u may have of his, or any thing he gave u, get out meet new people, go to group therapy, share your grief with someone else, someone u can trust, someone who is non judge mental. be good to yourself, accept this, don't look back in the past go forward.

You go about your everyday life, when you start to think about him, try changing your thoughts to something else.
