For movies, I have had blockbuster for almost 2 years now and it has been great, especially now with the Total Access. Movies have not been lost at all coming to me, or leaving me, and I usually receive them within 1-2 business days of returning them. With the Total Access, you are able to return the movies shipped to you at your local Blockbuster for more free rentals, and also get a free game rental once a month. I have all the movies I could ever ask for with Blockbuster, by mail and in store, for only like 20 a month :) Very happy with them.
For Games, I would avoid Gottaplay at all costs. I joined a couple weeks ago and it has been a nightmare throughout! I signed up for their 10 day trial for 1 dollar, but was charged the 1 dollar plus the monthly fee of 12.95 (only to be refunded upon canceling trial). They did a site redesign on a Friday and went home for the weekend with no customer service available, and completely left out any ability to cancel your account. They literally left it out of the redesign. I returned the game that same Friday, because I was canceling, only to receive an additional charge to my credit card 2 weeks later for $50 dollars, saying the game was never returned, even though it disappeared out of my games out category (as if they did receive it, why else would it leave the games out list?). Guess I have a lot of disputing to do. Huge huge hassle and awful customer service!
As for Gamefly, I'm kindof neutral on them - but wouldn't recommend them. I also used their service for a few months. Since they only had distribution centers in California at the time (I'm in NY) it would take 4-5 days for a game to reach me. Most of the time the games would arrive and return smoothly, and be in working condition. But every month or so I would return a game and it would "never arrive" back at their center, or they'd send a game to me and it would never show up. Either the fault of their organization, or the USPS, but not mine. Whenever I wanted to keep a game I'd use their keep it feature and buy it. After too many "lost" games, they banned my account, despite any wrongdoing on my side.
I'm currently looking into gaming sites that I feel 100% satisfied myself, but if looking for games I would use this site:
http://video-game-rental-review.toptenreviews.com
On the left is a top 10 list of gaming sites, based on reviews. Look over the top few and check their sites to see if they have distribution centers anywhere near you(so you get the games quickly!). Since Gamerang has an East Coast distributer, I'll probably go with them next. If you're west coast, the first 2 may fit you well!
So, basically..Movies..definitely Blockbuster..no problems at all and rentals by mail and in store..as for games, eh..I'm still finding one I really like. Do some research at the site above and maybe you'll find one that's really great. (And if you do, fill me in! :D )

I currently have Blockbuster Total Access. It's cool if you live near a blockbuster, since the movies you get in the mail serve as free rental coupons if you take them to the store when you're done with them. They also give a free game rental coupon once a month.
If you're looking for more gaming opportunities, Gamerang.com is a good pick. I had Gamefly once, but the shipping took forever, and I wouldn't recommend them.

Blockbuster is a good one.. cause once you are done with the movie or game you can take it to the store and return it and get a new one. You don't have to wait for the next one in the mail. And when you return it to the store it returns it one day sooner so you will have another movie/game on the way even sooner!!!

Yes, it's a good thing.
I live in a VERY rural area, and it is an HOUR drive to a Block-busters !! I joined Netflix, and now I have no problems.
I don't rent games, but my movies come quickly.
