Mmm - because even if they are what you say (and you have to remember that not every human being agrees with every other, so it's likely there are a lot of people in Iran who don't agree with the few you see yelling on t.v. but are afraid to say so because they don't want to be killed or see their families tortured), what we do is part of who we are, and most of us just don't want to be that person, or that country. It's impossible to be good and do evil, because by choosing to do evil, you choose to be evil. If we would keep our self-respect as a country, we must stand behind all those lovely ideals in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. If they apply only to us, they don't mean much.
We don't want to become that which we despise. Didn't your mama ever tell you it's dumb to jump off a bridge just because other people are doing it?
