Example is Education. Many states have privatized over 100 tasks that are supposed to be controlled by the federal government. So list some that you think the private sector can handle and the federal government should not worry about, but worry about larger issues.

Pretty much everything except maintaining interstate highways, military defense and criminal prosecution / law enforcement.

Everything else can (and to an extent already is) handled privately -- including education, the security and investigation aspects of police work, medical care, and civil courts -- and could easily be entirely privatized.

I agree with coragryph.
You said states have privatized over 100 tasks that are supposed to be controlled by the Federal government. I reread the US Constitution. There are not 100 tasks that the Federal Government is ALLOWED to do, let alone that are supposed to be controlled by it. Just enforcing the 10th amendment (aka reservation of powers) would eliminate at least half of the cabinet.

i believe most of the tasks done by the government now are too sensitive to privatize (would you really want a company to type up classified documents?)...but thats not to say that the government can't streamline...when it comes down to the the government should almost be run like a business so that tax payers money is spent the best it can be...take for example the tax code it has MILLIONS of loopholes and most are for the rich...if it were run as a business we could have a tax code that could be a couple pages at most of the average citizen (non profits, business, etc. would have to be longer of course)...

A lot could be, but in the end you'd just end up with a private corporation outsourcing those tasks to their offices in India or China.

I think they should privatize Amtrak and give one share of stock each to everybody in America with a social security number.
