To be a winner, you need character. Manning, Brady...I could go on. Whoever drafts him is throwing their pick away.

What do you guys think?

To add to my question, I remember Quinn yelling at an offensive coordinator and being rude over the phone and being very entitled as to what he wanted to do. Some people call that a leader...however, I think that "leads" to team fragmentation. Add to that, he flops at zero hour. Of course, I don't know the dude.

Just wait for this season. You'll find out.

Funny, you are way off target. Everything I've heard anyone say about Quinn, is that he is a guy with a lot of class, how he is friendly, outgoing, and willing to answer any question. On the field he conducted himself with poise and dignity. He's handled all the criticism he has received remarkably well. Hmmmm I call that character. And he is also an exceptional athlete. I cannot say for sure, because only time will tell for certain, but I think that he will succeed in the NFL and do well. I think the team that drafts him (most likely the Lions) will be very glad they did.

And on another note, I would be willing to bet that all of the people who say Quinn is horrible, or that he'll be a bust, or whatever garbage they say, are the people who have never seen him play, or never seen him interview.

Oh and for the guy who said he never played well against Michigan or USC, you should get your facts straight. He beat Michigan the season before last. ND also narrowly lost to USC 2 years ago, what was the final score....41-38 or something, where Quinn drove ND down the field to score with a minute left, only to have the win slip from his grasp thanks to a porous ND defense. Do some research bud before you speak about things you have no clue about. Yes he had some bad games against them, but he also had some exceptional ones.

Dude you're crazy. There's no indication at all that Brady is a head case or lacks character, in fact signs point in the complete opposite direction. He started four years, graduated with a double major in 3.5 years and was voted captain as a junior by HIS TEAMMATES!! Brady could have left school after his junior year for boat loads of money but stayed to continue his education and finish his commitment to Notre Dame.

Brady will prove to be an excellent pro quarterback. He has the skills and the character. I know the argument about losing the big games but for the most part SC, Michigan, Ohio State, LSU all had superior team talent which is why Notre Dame lost, not because Brady isn't a good quarterback or leader.

Who ever grabs Brady will be lucky to have him.

Disagree. He's a great quarterback who rewrote the record books at Notre Dame - a school that had Joe Montana.

To the folks above saying Russell is better, how so? Because Russell's LSU team was great, that does not mean Brady Quinn is bad. Russell was on a better team, and ND's defense was horrendous - that's not Quinn's fault.

I do think quinn is overrated, but I don't think he's going to be a Ryan Leaf bust. He'll probably be a starter and be a pretty decent qb if he goes to the right team. If he goes to a team with a bad offensive line I think he'll have a rough time. He has some potential and a good work ethic. However, I still don't like him and I think he's a ho.

I don't know as much about football as a lot of you guys do but i do know this: How well a college QB does in the pro's is very much dependent upon what team he winds up with and who is head coach is .
If you took Montana away from Walsh, Manning away from Dungy and Brady away from Belichek you might still have some pretty decent QB but I really doubt if you would have one hall of famer and two possible HOFer's.
Given the right coach and the right timetable I think that Brady Quinn could be a good NFL QB . I think that if a team drafts him and places him in the savior position he will be overwhelmed and fail miserably.
The landscape of pro fooball is littered with college qbs who became starters way too early in their careers and weren't ready for it.
ask Mini Manning

This guy is going to be a solid NFL quarterback hands down. He already plays in a pro style system and is coached by a former NFL coordinator. Don't sleep this guy is no Ryan Leaf... and what does being black have anything to do with weather you're a pocket passer or not, Doug Williams(who is black)was a pocket passer who won a Superbowl with the Redskins in 1988...some people should not speak if they don't know what they are talking about!

Too early to tell about how he will play. He is a young guy so I give him the benefit of the doubt, besides he has never been in trouble or anything.Nothing he has done during games I watched would lead me to think he has any character flaws. Also, if two years down the road he throws for 3500 yards, 25 td's and an 85.0 passer rating no one will care if he is a head case or not. People are too hard on young guys who are just playing a game I think.

I would like to know your basis for Quinn not having any character. I've never heard of anything hes done that would tell me he lacks moral capabilities or the character to be an all around good person. That being said, he is the most NFL ready QB in the draft. Charlie Wiess got that kid ready to play football at the next level and I don't see him being a bust... but you never really know.

I agree with you whole heartedly. I don't think he'll be a Leaf though... but he will indeed be the biggest bust since him.

Quinn has played no competition besides Michigan and USC, which he has never played well against either. Notre Dame only plays teams like Army, Navy, and Air force, teams of that caliber besides USC and UM, them maybe in the Bowl if they make it.

He didn't show anything in the combine either.. He's NEVER shown anything in his whole career, all this hype with him is just a waste of people's breath and I'm going to laugh my butt off when he sucks and all the ND fans and Quinn's fans are like "WTF!?!"

Newsflash...You can't go to Notre Dame if you don't have character...You wouldn't get accepted...Hmmm...Have you ever heard of Brady Quinn taking money from boosters, or living rent free in a house owned by a booster like Reggie Bush did?...Notre Dame would laugh Bush out of the school if he did that there...Moral character is a little more important at ND than athletic ability...
