Gary Matthews Jr...Involved with roids, will not do as well as last year...but still has a shot at 30 hr (but more likely 20)

Xavier Nady...I like him, what do you guys think?

Joey Gathright...If he can get on the bases enough, he will have a ton of runs and maybe 40 steals...but he only batted like .250 last year

Kevin Youkilis...Lots orf runs ahnnd some RBI

So, who do you think I should take?
p.s-i'm not to concerned with average, my team avg is only like .277 right now

p.p.s-any other suggestions for people who would be better but probably not on a team already?

Thanks-I didn't think of him (saw the #'s and thought "unavailable")...also yesterday the d-baks said on their site he should be ready for opening day

Gathright. Matthews (who by the way was busted with HGH, not roids) will not likely do much. Gathright, on the other hand, will still more bases than all these other guys combined. Steals are hard to come by, so there's your man.

None of these guys looks like a great option unless you need SB, then Gathright would be someone to think about. What about guys like Craig Monroe, Chris B. Young , Quentin, Scott (great numbers in limited AB) or even Coco Crisp. If Crisp is available he might be the steal of the century for you, look at his numbers before last season and compare them with Damon over the same stretch (scary close, almost twin numbers). Crisp played all last season with a badly damaged thumb (now healthy) so a rebound that is even in the area of Damon numbers and you get the same type player that someone drafted in the 5th or 6th round. Also remember Teahen will shortly be outfield eligible and should put up very good numbers.

Gary Mathews Jr, he will not only help you in the hitting spectrum, but he will have more outfield assists than usual because of his skill, joey gathright is young but he isnt proven, Xavier Nady is not even ready, he's not a 25 home run/100 rbi man, and youkilis, he's not too bad but i still prefer mathews
