My friend cousin his friends with them. She told me the only reason they got together was because they thought that if they combine their last names, it would make them appear smarter or something since mcgrawHill is a textbook publisher also.

The McGraw Publishing Company and the Hill Publishing Company merged their book departments in 1909.
John A. Hill, co-founder of McGraw-Hill, was president of the company from 1909 to 1916, the year he died. James Herbert McGraw was the president of McGraw-Hill from 1917 to 1928.
Tim McGraw's father is Tug McGraw... Tug has NO link to James McGraw.
