Science Major that deals with helping people in 3rd world countries?

I'm going to be going to college in less than a year and am trying to find possible majors. I am really good in math and sciences and I have a big interest in helping others in third world countries. Do you know of any majors or careers that could be possible? If so do most schools offer them? If not what would be a good school to go to?

I'm from the midwest but am willing to go anywhere in the US for school.

Become a medical doctor, as there is a shortage, especially in the third world countries. Study liberal arts in college, with heavy loads of science, chemistry, and math. Then apply to medical sh cool. If your grades are in the ten percentile, you should be able to get some scholarships. Some countries are soliciting medical students and will even pay their school cost. You need to investigate via the Internet. The University of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Un. of Virginia, Duke and Vanderbilt have very good to great pre-med programs and medical schools. There are many other fine schools. Just request info. from them and make all A's and score high on the entrance exams and you will be fine.

Certain engineering is the only thing i have experience with. I know you could probably do it with bio or chem, but dont' know specifically. I know at my school there is a program where they send engineers to 3rd world countries and help out.

For example, in this oen village, people went to the bathroom in the river. Which caused the river to be contaminated and hurt the people down stream. So they set up a cheap a water treatment system. All organic, no need for electricy or anything. Needed to know science to solve the problem.

Anyways your schooling in engineering is gonna touch on sciences.

Go to Iowa State and learn Veterinary science and study to be an Agronomist. Two things that would help farmers in third world countries
