why in the HECK don't they get a decent qb and let chris weinke go????? the guy is like 1-18 in his career there. the last time delhommo was hurt the panthers ran like 20 straight running plays to avoid him throwing the ball... why do they continue to pay this guy $$$? WE NEED A QB!!!!!!!!

ok. sry. haven't heard anything about him.was curious though. though we have many needs, i think the qb is most important. it don't help that the PATS are getting EVERYONE!!! lol.

If i were the manager I would let go of Chris Weinke. I would also let go of Jake Delhome and get a more mobile QB.
The Panthers know have a list of QB's to pick from.( my Top 3 )
1.Draft Chris Leak ( florida gators QB )
2.Drew Bledsoe
3.Get Marcus Vick from Miami ( Mike Vicks lil bro. )

Weinke was cut weeks ago. There are some veteran qb's on the market, but other than David Carr, maybe Harrington the rest are terrible.
I would expect the Panthers to..
1. Draft a tight end
2. Draft defense(linebackers)
3. Sign a qb, and pray Delhomme doesn't miss any playing time.

1. Weinke never got a fair shake but was nothing but a backup anyways.
2. Yes we need a QB and I hope they pick up Carr instead of Harrington as they are talking about doing.
3. There were many reasons for the major bomb they had last season. Offensive line losing three starters, Morgan getting another concussion, other major injuries, and again spending money on players who really did not help.
4. As long as Fox is there as head coach his play calling is predicitable and not to the strengths of the team.
5. Hope they draft one of the QB's available in the draft for the future if they don't get Carr.
6. Minter retiring makes me pray we get to the Superbowl. Class act this guy!

Weinke is garbage.. So there is one thing you're right on. and by the way, didn't the panthers demolish the falcons that game? Anyway, i feel this question because Steve Smith was on my fantasy football team at that point. Decent QB, well show Rattay some "dinero" and maybe you'll see how getting a second string QB is harder than it seems. A starter wont come to be on your bench, you dont want to spend too much money, and they've gotta be relatively good. plz say this is the best :)

As far as I know, they already cut Weinke. The only two QB's on the depth chart are Delhomme and Basanez. They picked up Basanez in the draft last year. They may pick up another QB in the second or third round of the draft this year. Possibly Drew Stanton or Trent Edwards....I'm not a big Carolina fan so I'm not familiar with their offense....

Amen Panthers fan, but we have other needs too, Greg olsen would be a good pick at tight end, ever since wesley walls left we were garbage at tight end, also we need help at the safety position, shawne williams is gettin no younger, also a lb like patrick willis would help too since morgan is injury prone, but a QB would be nice too unless you are ready to see Stefan Lafors, if he is still there. We will be okay.

no idea. no i'm not a panther hater, but i seriously am confused: what went wrong last year??? i predicted you guys to make the super bowl and i saw a team that struggled constantly. anyways, perhaps you guys could draft a qb in the 2nd round. like drew stanton in the second round.

They should get Joey Harrington or Trent Green to back up Delhomme...Green is probably looking for a starting job, though...MAYBE David Carr...but he will be looking to start too...He was it in Houston, so he'll be the same as Green, wanting to start...
