Well, even if it is sterile, I don't know if it is, it will contain particulates that your body has expelled because it doesn't want them and can't use them. It makes no good sense to re-introduce them to your body by leaving them on your hands. Secondly, bacteria is all over your body but it breeds up big time in damp, moist warm locations on your body.... That bacteria, whilst naturally occuring is not necessarily good for you to consume.

We wash our hands to remove as much of the bacteria on our hands as we can, to prevent consuming it. So people should wash their hands as often as possible, but particularly after going to the toilet, to try and prevent the spread of infection from one person to another through illness causing bacteria found in poop and habitating on the human body.

The bacteria that your body can sustain may be quite lethal to me.... please wash your hands.

Urine is sterile, but so is gasoline or juice of the nightshade plant. Sterile is not the same as harmless. It is the toxic chemicals in your urine that need to be washed off, not bacteria. Urine is your body's waste disposal system, so there is a lot of stuff that your body wanted to get rid of in urine. And these things are worse than mere bacteria usually is. So quit looking for excuses and wash your hands!

While you can't catch anything from yourself, you can catch things from the bathroom. If you use a urinal, a fine spray bounces off the porcelain, and some gets on your hands. When other people use the bathroom and defecate or urinate, they also spray bacteria into the air. Anything you touched in the bathroom (like a stall door) will also have bacteria on it.

Just generally, in a bathroom, there are airborne pathogens. Wash those hands!

Why wash when it is sterile? Have you ever heard of urine therapy, by drinking own pee that can cure sickness.

Urine is sterile? There is bacteria in urine that you're not supposed to put in your mouth. Also, you don't want to put that into someone else's mouth...this sounds funny but if you don't wash your hands and then shake my hand, then i pick my teeth...you get the picture?

urine is only ideally sterile. if you have a uti, it's not sterile. and because you're touching your peepee which is not sterile. and it's also good to wash every now and then ... to ensure you do, it's just a good habbit to do it when you use the restroom or before preparing / eating food.

your urine is sterile to you- that doesn't mean you don't have other things floating around in there, though. Their bad for me, okay for you.

Plus, the bathroom ain't the best place ot pick a new germ buddy.

Plus, its a conditioned response.
Note: You oee, flush toilet. SOmeoned pooped, wiped, flush.
Now you carry those out and get everybody else to share those germs.

Who told you urine is sterile? The reason your body expels urine is because it is toxins in your body (hence why people who are drunk tend to urinate more often). Also your body gathers much more bacteria in warm dark areas (like around the penis and testis).

This is a common mistake that most people make. Hand washing is strictly a "social phobia" Your hands are actually cleaner once drenched with a healthy dose of urine then they would be with soap and water.
