We have tried liquid plumber and that worked for a little while. We were told to use boiling water then salt then boiling water, etc. That doesn't seem to be working either. Any other suggestions?

I've tried the boiling water also and it never worked. I used a plunger and it kept it clear for awhile.

I just saw this on a show called How Clean is your House? They used baking soda, salt and white vinegar followed by boiling water. But be care full because all these things produce fumes! For the tub they put dish washing tabs in a bucket with boiling water then dumped it into the tub and let it set for a while. Good luck!

I've used a plunger every time my sinks have clogged. It works great. I have a separate one for toilets and one for sinks. Occasionally, you should clean out the trap. Especially in bathroom sinks because they collect a lot of hair. It's easy to do. Just get a pipe wrench and loosen the connection that looks like an elbow. (the part at the bottom of the drain pipe that loops back up and into a pipe that goes out through the wall). There will be some water leakage so have a bucket, that fits under the pipe, close by.

If those treatments didn't work, it sounds like you might have to remove the pipe from under the sink, and remove the blockage. If it is the shower, I bet it's hair causing the jam. You might have to purchase a "snake auger", it is a metal springlike gadget, that you put in the pipe, and turn the handle, forcing the metal spring into the pipe, pushing things away. If your kitchen sink pipes are lower than the washer, pipes, or bath pipes, you may need to take care of it from above, up on the roof. There you will find a vent, it's about a 2inch diameter pipe, use the auger if you have purchased one. None of the above work, call the plumber, that's how we found out about the pipe on the roof. Good luck.

I have always had luck with good ole' fashioned "Drano." I do use, however, slightly more than the instructions on the bottle say. And on a few rare occasions, I have been known to bring the outside garden hose in through a window, and place the hose right into the clogged drain. Put rags around the nozzle, and yell to your son who is manning the outside faucet, "ON." Have him ready to turn it off in a flash if needed. You can "blast" the clog out this way but you really have to be quick with the "on and off" as needed.

I've used dish detergent and 3 pots of boiling water. Pour water in SLOWLY and let sit for awhile then plunge. It worked on a clogged toilet for me several times.
