Oh, I am so sorry. I know how you feel. I had a guinea pig when I was young and I loved her so much. She was light brown with white across her back, she was so pretty. I went on vacation and left her with a friend and she died. I thought my heart was going to break, too.
Remember how much you love your guinea pig and know that he or she loved you, too. It's never easy when something that you love dies. If you feel like you need to cry, then cry. Remember the times your guinea pig made you laugh, cuddled with you, the funny way they looked while they ate, and how pretty your pet was. Those memories don't have to be sad, they can be happy memories. Remember the good things, your pain will go away and be replaced with fond memories. It's just going to take a little while.
I'm so sorry you lost your pet, bless your heart.

Of course there is a need to mourn. Just because it wasn't a pet that many people are familiar with doesn't mean the loss isn't personally painful to you.
As we love and nuture creatures they take on a special place in our hearts. My son's bird died and the whole family was sad--not can't get out of bed sad, but sad nonetheless.
Tidy up the cage and effects, and think about another pet. It's Ok to feel sad, but within a few days you should be fairly over it.
Sorry for your loss, feel better soon.

sorry to hear this, but here is what I did when my guinea pig died.
I put it in a box, and dug a DEEP hole (so cats won't dig it up) put the box in, covered it up with dirt and put some stones (you could put anything you like) on the spot to remember where he/she was buried. After about a 2 weeks you won't mind so much any more. if you are planning on getting another one get a baby one cause there life span is about 4 years. Again i am sorry to hear this cause I know what it feels like. But you will get over it after a while.
Hope my advise helps! :)

Put the pig in a box and find a nice place to burry it. Wait a while and get a new pet. But remember pets dont live as long as humans so if you want something that wil out live you get a parrot.

Get another pet to help ease the pain. You will never forget but it will get easier
