Depends where you live. In England man loses all rights to his children when you divorce. (I found that out the hard way) You have to go to court for contact but a devious, scheming and lying ex wife can stop you seeing them for 5 years as mine has. been there done that. no other way, a court order. black and white-you and the ex will come to an agreement or the court will. then follow it, if you're not happy, back to court to change it. its mind blowing when you can't agree, so its the final option but it works. well for me for sure, she had to compromise. if either party don't follow the order expect it to be taken back to court.
in the end its not the kids fault.
