I don't know about cultures. But religion. I am married to a guy who after 15 years together got into religion. and he thinks like that. let's just say. his new idea of sex is stick the thing in co..it's over. so that is why I don't give it to him. I think that way of thinking towards sex is pathetic. he's even afraid to touch his own to put it in.. he tries to put it in without having to touch himself or me. like I said pathetic.

My Christian church holds sex to be sacred. Very sacred. It is the means and way we bring children into the world, providing a mortal tabernacle in which their spirit can dwell. It is most sacred. And it is also a way that man and wife can develop a closeness, bond, connect equaled in no other way.
It is when this power of procreation is used unwisely is where it becomes a "sin" as you say. Children being born to single parents, growing up without the benefit of both a mother and father, where they are subjected to a life of poverty and deficit is when it becomes a problem and a sin.
It cannot be argued that indiscriminate sexual activity has a negative social impact. Look around you for the evidence. Sex participated in within righteous and holy bounds results in the greatest happiness anyone can have, that is, becoming a parent to another life.
Sex is to be enjoyed, to be relished, but like any good thing. there are limits. Any good thing in life has limits. And those limits are actually freedom, freedom from the consequences of selfishness.

No, just those based on the monotheistic death cults that originated in the Middle East (Judaism, Christianity, Islam).
Many cultures based on "pagan" religions hold sex to be very sacred.
As an atheist and a male, I love sex.

Not in all cultures. And in most it's only a sin if it's before marriage.
