God says in the Bible that there will be no living prophets in our time. So why do Mormons and Catholics and other religion believe in prophets even though God has said there are none until Jesus comes back to earth?

How can there NOT be living prophets? Do you honestly beleive a loving Heavenly Father would leave us to just "figure out" His divine will? I don't. He chooses His prophets, they speak for Him. Our living prophet today is President Gordon B. Hinckley... I know without a doubt he literally is God's voice for us. I am not sure what you are referring to in the bible as "no more prophets"...
As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are blessed to be led by living prophets—inspired men called to speak for the Lord, as did Moses, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, Nephi, Mormon, and other prophets of the scriptures. We sustain the President of the Church as prophet, seer, and revelator—the only person on the earth who receives revelation to guide the entire Church. We also sustain the counselors in the First Presidency and the members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators. Like the prophets of old, prophets today testify of Jesus Christ and teach His gospel. They make known God's will and true character. They speak boldly and clearly, denouncing sin and warning of its consequences. At times, they may be inspired to prophesy of future events for our benefit.

Why would the practice of preaching, teaching and testifying need to stop in our day? Wouldn't that mean God had given up on us or didn't care if we knew what He wanted us to?
I believe God is more loving than that and I am thankful we are given prophets who direct and lead us.

Yea sure the bubble says that--- It also prophesied all the prophecy it prophesied=== Its all come true --- Like AMERICA 2015--- ISIS 2015---THE Mayans 1100---- 1929 stock market ONCE AGAIN WHY NO AMERICA--- Oh that was joseph smith and the reformed Egyptians --- The question is --Why would God need prophet --- EVER ??? Devine revelation can only exist between A man and Itself--- Repeated it is human revelation +++++++++++ Man does not trust man --But God trust man ??? This is and will always be the worst form of communication -- The God of Abraham might be best being educated in communications at any college on planet earth--- Has he forgotten how to create too ??

The Bible says no such thing. In fact, there are lots of verses that say that there MUST BE prophets. In Amos, it says that the Lord God will do NOTHING but that He reveals His secrets to His servants, the prophets. That tells me that even today, He won't do anything without telling them first. If there ARE no prophets, or if we don't accept them, then how can we know what God is telling us, if it is true, if it is from Him?

Where exactly in the Bible does it say "no more prophets", I am confused.....Even if it does, why would God give people the gift of prophecy then but not now.....do we suddenly not need prophets anymore?

I think the Q'ran says something like that, but I am not an expert on Islam....

Because it's all completely made up by man so of course it's not consistent.

There are hundreds (thousands?) of religions and they all have prophets. The whole point of religion is so that we give all of our money to one guy (the prophet). It's been carried on by other selfish people who have taken over the role of the prophet (priests, evangelists) and still take people's money while pretending to represent god.

I'm a prophet a shell/McDonald's store clerk in San Antonio that was chosen by God. Last November 2013 God gave me a vision where we had a conversation between me and God. After that knowledge started pouring in day and night with prophecies, the love of God, and knowledge of scriptures. It was fast training like boot camp for prophets, so much training and examples nothing i couldn't handle though. Then after five months the gifts of healing, of praying of God sending people to me for anything from people in turmoil so i can sooth them give them words from God to say to them . When i was going through the training i felt like clay God molding me into what he envisioned me to be. I never opened the bible nor went to church. Just started reading the bible this month and finished exodus and started going to a Christian church called Word of Faith near here. Everything in the bible i know but i do it because God is the living God he is always with us. was shy now I'm not
