I asked the question about my ***** culling her pups, I recieved many answers mostly No's, I would now like a follow up. Why have so many people said NO, and what are your reasons?
(justify your reasons, becase the bottom line is, that they are animals and all animals cull their young if they think there is a problem or an imperfection, its a survival pattern. If we spay our
Bitches at home due to this, then why aren't people going out there in the wild to stop the same thing happening?Because Nature determines life & death not only for animals but for humans.

If left to nature alone, your dog may have died without the vet's intervention, so you can't really play that card. However, I think it's up to you and your vet whether you let her try again, and can't be decided merely on the basis of what happened. It must have been sad for you, I hope if you do try again it all works out :)

You have to understand... it is actually instinctive to prize life in general to an extent, and particularly babies of any species. You can see this kind of thing crop up all over the place in the animal kingdom - many animals 'adopt' foundlings... sometimes even ones that will someday become predators.

Beyond that, many humans are socialized to believe that life has an inordinate - if not infinite - value. This is, of course, is a completely ridiculous set a values to put into practice; people who MUST be practical WILL have an entirely different set of values than the ones you saw. To an extent, it might even be fair to say that you might measure the affluence of a society by the number of people who can afford to have ridiculous ideas such as these.

Even now in many parts of the world HUMANS 'cull' their young, abandoning children with undesirable characteristics in the mountains or putting them in the care of those who are known to kill them (orphanages for much of history had about a 50% survival rate PER YEAR, and that was no secret). Which values are enforced this way varies from culture to culture.

So I can see many reasons why people might tell you what they did (I peeked at your other question), but I also think it's pretty obvious that this just isn't really so. As you yourself point out - nobody is hunting down these 'bad animals'... not even 'bad humans' in most cases.

Peace.
