Liberals want our troops out before the job is done, if at all possible, have they considered what would happen to Iraq if we "cut and run"? It would turn into chaos, would the libs then blame themselves or blame Bush again for leaving?

To the best of my knowledge, no one has suggested that.

Ya know, yer damned if oyu do and your damned if you don't Some people won't be happy unless we commit the troops until eternity, some won't be happy unless we bring them home tomorrow.

What has been suggested, fairly strongly by congress, is that a timeline be set. We've been in Iraq longer than we were in WWII. It's time for the Iraqis to put up or shut up.

You set a timeline. It can be extended, or contracted. What is for sure happening now is an unending series of sectarian conflicts and US troops are caught in the middle of it.

In an internal civil war of this type, defining when it is over is difficult, in fact, IMHO the sectarian violence will never end in this region. If we withdraw, and the Iranians step in, guess what? The sunnis and kurds will do the same thing to them that the shites and sunnis are doing to us. So we'll send in guns and other munitions (the stingers we sent to Afghanistan pretty much spelled the end of the Russian occupation of that country) and iran will thereby use up much of it's military energy on the invasion and subsequent occupation.

I'm not a liberal, but I think this rhetoric has been repeated whenever people ask to pull out the troops. Bush said.. "It will turn into chaos".. well.. what's so different from now? .. Isn't Iraq in chaos already? If US soldiers are pulled out, it wouldn't change much in the way of chaos, except there will be less US soldiers dying at the hands of Iraqi guerillas and road side bombs, and less Iraqi civilians dying from mistakes by US soldiers, and less money spent on maintaining tens of thousands of US troops.

Frankly, I don't give a damn what happens over there. Maybe I'm selfish but I care more about the Americans' lives rather than whatever the **** would happen if we pull out. They don't even want us there, and we are accomplishing nothing. Might as well get out as soon as possible and prevent as many deaths as we can. It wouldn't piss me off so much if the war was purposeful, like WWII.

So pull the troops out tomorrow, please. I know for a fact that most Americans don't want to put the stability of Iraq over the lives of Americans.

I'm in the army and **** Iraq.

Why do you war mongers persist with regurgitating worn out Conservative-talk-show clichés? Cut & run? What exactly is that?

Explain to me what factors or accomplishments or objectives we need to achieve before we declare victory in Iraq. Also explain why we're building permanent military bases and the biggest embassy in the world. Don't you get it? The only objective of this privitized war is to ensure that Bush and Cheney's corporate buddies get filthy rich. It is not a war on terror and Bush could care less about democracising Iraq. Wake up and smell the truth.

What is "the job"? Staying until Saddam is gone? Done.
Staying until Iraq has a new government? Done.
Staying until Iraq has a draft constitution and elections? Done.

Staying until Iraq has no more internal conflict? That will take decades at least. And cripple our military in the process.

Whenever we pull out -- tomorrow, next year, three years from now -- the Iraqi conflict will continue. Until eventually one faction or another gains dominance and supresses the other one by force.

Iraq as a single country isn't anywhere close to ready to be a democracy, because there is no internal trust and no internal willingness among all the people to work together. The US is barely able to maintain a democratic form of govt given partisan politices, and we've had 230 years of practice at it.

They'd blame Bush for leaving, because to them it's his war. They do nothing, but blame other people for their mistakes.

Israel nukes iran's nuclear enrichment facility.
Total oil shut off.
World wide depression.
Russia decides to retaliate...
We can't allow it to go unanswered.

Mission accomplished. Bring the troops home and the Iraqis can police their own country.

Yeah, so what happens when we loose all that oil too? Everyone gonna start riding bikes? Oh, and let's ignore Iran too while we're at it.
