It will help you plant the plants in the right spot and help them grow. Its great that the strawberries are flowering. Just keep and eye on them so the birds don't get them.
Depending on the veggies you like: carrots are good and easy to plant, red beets, onions (though they need alittle work), and beans.
Herbs that I plant and are good to eat are: parsley, basil, rosemary, chives, oregeno, and thyme.
Hope this helps

You should begin small and plant only tings you'll eat. Strawberries, herbs, tomatos and leafy greens are good. Some plants I like to grow: Rainbow chard, blueberries, pole beans, carrots and onions (since bugs hate the smell), Sugar snap peas, Yukon gold potatos, Garlic, rosemary, basil, oregano.
A great book to check out is:
Carrots Love Tomatoes: Secrets of Companion Planting for Successful Gardening by Louise Riotte
You can find it on Amazon.com if you can't find it at a local bookstore.

A few comments. Don't consider your strawberries trouble free. Slugs loves those berries and mites will often attach themselves under the leaves and suck them til they're dead. Just keep an eye on them for both so you can head off problems before they begin.
Your maters and peppers should do fine if you give them some fertilizer. They both have similar feeding needs.
If you have room, try some sweet corn. It's one of those things that just can't be beat fresh.
Do remember that many herbs are perrenials and may need their own garden space

Tomatoes, maximum herbs (cilantro, basil, oregano, rosemary), bell peppers and maximum kinds of warm peppers might properly be grown in pots- the two initiate from seeds or purchase small vegetation. i've got grown all those in pots myself plus I easily have began carrots and radishes from seed in deeper pots. you are going to be able to as properly sow a splash unfastened leaf lettuce or mescalun combination in stable sized pots for salad. you don't desire a posh pot. i've got considered somebody improve tomatoes via making a hollow interior the precise of a bag of potting soil and sticking a tomato plant into the bag. Pots can dry positioned quickly so which you will might desire to water in many circumstances -in all likelihood on a daily basis whilst that's warm. extra suitable pots stay moist longer. sunlight for decrease than area of the day is nice for many vegetables- you basically get somewhat much less yield. in case you in no way have sunlight on the patio, then you definately could might desire to grant then some sunlight someplace else or use a improve lamp. we've grown all a lot of those on a sunny windowsill too, exceptionally the herbs. stable success.

Rosemary, lavendar, basil, orange thyme, and sage are all good herbs and serve a double purpose. They all smell good and can be used for cooking.

did you know that the flavor of a veggie can change according to what's planted next to it?
