Obviously I love the Leafs. Always have, always will. Perhaps some of you are mistaking intensity and hard, gritty hockey with "cheap shots". If a player that is 5'10" 160lbs such as Tucker takes out a guy that is 6'4" 240lbs it is often said he has to hit him with a cheap shot. Yes admittedly Tucker has done a few cheap shots in his career and when he was on Tampa I hated him with a passion but I would take 1 Tucker before I took a team of lack lustre overly talented but lazy players that are only in it for the money and seem to play better at contract time such as Kovalev, Yashin etc.
As to your comment about most of them not being able to play hockey they are gelling best at the end of the year and all 4 lines are producing and they are currently only 1 point out of the playoffs. Not bad for a team that can't play.

I was with you until your last statement. They all play hockey better than you do.

That said, I doubt any sports team has ever earned so much love and hatred for so little reason. They have not been to the finals since the 1960s. They have not produced an MVP since 1955. Their owner knows this but keeps ticket prices sky high, knowing that the fans will come anyway. No matter how much they suck, their fans don't care. To them, it's always the refs' fault or injuries or Mats Sundin's bald head that cost them the season. Jealous of the love they receive despite their mediocrity, other people like you and I scorn them. I'll never know why they are so beloved. I'll never know why the rest of us even care.

That about sums it up.

I think the Leafs have a chance at being a good team, but they always make the mistake of trying to put on a show instead of just grinding down and playing good hockey. This year they were a little better than last and I have to respect a team that the only way to get season tickets to their games is to inherit them.

cheap shot king Darcy Tucker, and don't forget his a great diver, he can join are Olympic team for diving. New NHL faster they go a sign Hal Gill $2,050,000.00 very slow player and another big deal with Pavel Kubina $20,000,000.00 4 year deal $5,000,000.00 a year, bad bad moves by the Leafs GM.
so the league announces the new NHL will have more speed and the Leafs go and sign two big contracts with two of the slowest defencemen in the league today. Hal Gill is the slowest in the NHL.

They're overrated. All the media always covers the Leafs, they barely or don't make the playoffs but still have a lot of fans, and people are calling the Sedins the Sundins.

Leafs are ok. Leaf fans are a bunch of drunken, stripper children, who really want to be American. Blow Leafs Blow. When is Wayne going to be on your $.
