Here's my thoughts on this whole thing.
We supposedly went to war because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction (don't hear that term used much anymore, do you?).
Then it was because of the atrocities Saddam committed against his people (he and a dozen other dictators around the world committed horrible crimes, but we only go after Saddam).
Finally, it was to spread democracy in the middle east. Please...democracy won't work in the middle east. There are two reasons why democracy worked for America - the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. We had thousands of miles of ocean to protect us from pesky foreign countries while we spent hundreds of years tweaking our government. Iraq doesn't have those luxuries.
Think about this. We go into Iraq and bomb the heck out of it. We totally destroy, not only the infrastructure of this country, but the government as well. We've only been there FOUR years!!! How long do you think it took for America to finally establish its democracy? Hell, we went through a CIVIL WAR while our new government was experiencing its growing pains!
Should we have gone in the first place? No. Should we leave? No. We have a responsibility to clean up the mess we created. If we leave, the country of Iraq and its citizens will decend into a state of disaray, worse than anything they've experienced under Saddam.
...just my two cents.

We are still there because the warlords want us there,
excusing their terrorism against their own people on an occupation.
It is really about controlling the drug trade
The media in the UK
celebrates every soldiers death,
terrorising service families with their Triangle of death reports and revealing operational information to the terrorists.
When we talk about intelligence.
The biggest Intelligence operation in the UK is the media,
They tap out mobiles, read our e-mails, search our dust bins, pay civil servants for state secrets. They are the biggest war mongers, time and again they drive politicians into a corner.
Can you remember all the reports before the second gulf war was launched.
Long range rockets , chemical and atomic war heads etc.
As usual the UN was powerless, the top dogs do make a regular buck on sanction breaking though

We cannot leave Iraq because there is too much internal conflict between the Iraqis. If we pull out now the country will fall into even deeper civil war. We started the war and so we need to do our best to leave the country stable.
Secondly, we cannot leave whilst the insurgents are fighting us however we wont beat them and they wont leave whilst we are there to be fought.
$hit $itua£ion to be in and I don't know the answer.Although right or wrong I would like to see all the troops back home now as I wouldn't sacrifice one more soldier for this lost cause.

Considering the fact that we should never have been in Iraq to begin with-we need to pull out as safely for our troops as possible. It seems the longer we're there-the crazier things get. We're sticking our noses into a situation we not only cant comprehend-but certainly cant solve.
What would happen if the Iraquis came over here and tried to get rid of our gangs? Come to think of it-maybe that's not such a bad idea.

Because we invaded the country tottally destabilised it, and now we are stuck there trying to clean up the mess we have created ,which by the way will never happen in a million years.Only Tony Blair could go into a war with no exit strategy nice one Tony :)

The problem is the country would fall into an all out civil war. The people doing all the bombings want us out so they can fight for control. Then years of war and bombing would go one and they'll blame the US for it all. Instead of setting up an infrustructure, government and police to control the region. Like the US is trying to do now.

Going into Afghanistan (OEF) was our response to 9-11.
Regardless of any justification for going into Iraq, OIF was our response to a nation that has defiantely ignored UN resolutions for many years and facilitated the financing and training of terrorists. Terrorists need money, and those who hate the West, particularly the US and Israel, are more than happy to provide terrorists with financing.
Our real threat is Iran. We went into Iraq, to get close to Iran. Iran continues to develop WMDs to use against the West.
We are currently not provoking Iran because we are not ready to confront them militarily. We are strategically arranging our forces to go to war with Iran in the future.
Iranians and terrorists understand patience and persistence. They believe they will be victorious since the US government seems to lack the resolve to finish the job in Iraq, so Iran will continue to finance, train, and send terrorists into Iraq until the US withdraws.

Sorry can't answer your question but did want to comment.
I do not know I lost the plot ages ago. We need our troops here in Britain using exocet missiles on murderers abusers etc. The Army is needed to enter homes and remove guns, knives and any other weapons.
