Definitely. The knockout of India&Pakistan took away the spirit of World Cup 2007.

What makes you think that just because India is out the other teams are not worth watching? This is not the right spirit of sportsmanship. You should be able to enjoy a sport/game irrespective of who is playing. Winning is not everything. Cricket is given so much importance in India that many other sports are forced to take a back seat. Maybe if there was equal importance given to other sports, India would have been competitive in many other areas and people wouldn't have expected cricketers to perform miracles. Last but not the least Indians have become famous world over for 'effigy burning' ... what a disgrace!!

Hay Buddy, Every thing is not lost...O.K.?
This world cup is the best ever...in many aspects.
Look what we have got here...
We have solid facts for that.
Its all the way for Asian Teams
No more white people ruling the Cricket World
But see how they became top of the world right now...
Did you see that heart stopping encounter
between South Africa & Sri Lanka?
These world cup matches come to live only in every 4 years.
Like Olympics..
Though Lankans beat india They still had to give their best ever performance..
That shows India was acontender for the cup truely.
So we can help Asians...
Dont be disheartened.
Cricket is the most popular Asian Game.
It has taken already the hasrts of ,
zillion people all over the world.
Its agenteleman's game.
It's glorious a game.
Even Indians still awtch world cup.You can still enjoy past cricket matches.
Baller balling to Batter...Every ball is deferrent..
it s aunique drama between ball & bat.Woolmer dead & gone .
We are still alive ..
Since we live let;s enjoy this fantastic game...
Let's see...When Robin Uthappa and Sourav Ganguly walked in, India had a target of just 255 runs, on a wicket which had dried and gone flatter.
But nobody showed the determination to stay on, except Dravid. It was his flurry of fours off Malinga in one over that had raised the hopes of Indian fans just for a while.

We are free to say, the turning point was Sachin’s getting out to Fernando, through the gate for a duck. That was a vital blow. India could not recover.
The panic button was pressed. Whatever little chances India had went up in flames when Yuvraj was run out foolishly.
But India can bounce back.

It is really worth analysing the difference between the two teams from the sub-continent. India’s strength was batting and given the proper conditions, their medium pacers and the spinners could be devastating.
If not, their shoulders start drooping and the bowling goes haywire with all kind of experimentations. It could happen to the batting too.Young blood should be pump to Indian cricket team...

Exactly opposite are Sri Lanka, except that their batting is as good if not better. We were the big brothers when they started. Now they are the elders. What an irony.
They are better fielders for sure, and the bowlers bowl to the field under any circumstances unless it’s a completely off day for them.
We should learn from them now....the stamina & energy....

Muralitharan ,Malinga Vass....... just outstanding. And most importantly, they play as a team and not as individuals. And that’s the thin line that differentiated the two teams.
But they now have to beat only 3 teams to advance easyly to much awaited semi finals.
And
Australia,New zraland ,south africa,
all are capable of winning it>
Dont lose interest in Cricket.
Long live Cricket ! ! !

Come on ! You guys call yourselves the "Blue Billion" for what?
Last world cup, South Africa were knocked out, in their own home nation. None of the S.Africans burned effigies or destroyed houses or said "I have no interest in the world cup" since S.A. is out!

This is an experience for India. It was going to at some point.
India was hyped up too much. They were overconfident and they simply slacked off!

After the world cup, India will have a big test when they head out to England in July/August. 4 Tests and 7 ODIs. Let's see what changes are implemented.

But as for the interest in the world cup, I think this world cup may just be reserved for the Aussies once again. But it will be interesting to see how the others compete to get into the finals.

Of the 8 world cups played so far, India have reached finals only twice and won the world cup only once. However, there was lot of interest in all other world cups. While there will be substantial loss in revenew due to early exit of India from the World Cup, interest in the game will still continue.

Why not ? I've to see how matches are won in difficult circumstances , how a true fight between two equally good teams progresses, what good shots, good strokes, good bowls are like sharp in swingers, out swingers, in cutters, in dippers, reverse swings, googlies, zooters ,top spins, flippers & how these bowls elude great batsmen & make them out. We have to see how dashing batsmen elude the best bowlers & make mockery of their techniques. There are a lot of things to enjoy even if India is not there. Even with India thee things are hardly visible. We should not be selfish enough not to enjoy cricket techniques which are visible only after 4 years on on occasion. We rather enjoy being tension free when India is not there b coz no mental pressure or emotion is there in body & soul. Whatever has happened is good as God does only good things , perhaps for better future. We should be broad minded , neutra, just & unbiased.

Of course the interest is diminished. It is still had to believe, but the men in blue seemed to be more interested in other things than cricket. they have got the treatment they deserved.

But for all those who are saying that we are overreacting, I would like to ask a question? When the players were being lauded to the skies, were being paid astronomically, none of you objected. Why? Because, you are hired writers, without a conscience, and who write for players, create pseudo images.

But even praising is vicarious pleasure. I think we should make our lives better by doing things ourselves, rather than 'watching' or 'viewing'. A good walk, a few minutes of cricket, or badminton means more to me than watching the best player. Mother Nature has all given us time to build our lives in. I will rather try myself, than silently 'watching' others.

I think there should be a different world cup now and the teams in it; India, Pakistan, Ireland, Zimbawve,Bermuda etc. etc. and then we might have a chance of winning World Cup after 26 years of waiting.Love you India:)
