The world as we know has always been in a state of war. People have been killing other people since time began. Is it vanity to think that modern society can some overcome the urges of our human nature. If it is vanity then why pretend that peace is what we really want. Look around you and ask yourselves. Can we survive as a peacefull society, and if so then why has it not happened yet.

To secure peace is to prepare for war.

If you kill all your enemies, and thier allies, and thier children..... then you will have peace. The dead cannot gripe, complain, go against you, or make war on you.
Support peace through superior firepower. Might makes right. History is written by the winners.
Okay.... I'm joking here. I do hope for peace, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Why bother asking a question when it's unrealistic to believe that prideful, selfish humans (yes that means you and me too) will ever learn to fully live peacefully with one another?
"Old men argue and bicker, then send the young men to die at war. After all the young men are dead, the old men are still sitting around arguing and bickering." - Author Unknown
"It is well that war is so terrible -- lest we should grow too fond of it." & "What a cruel thing is war: to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world. " - Robert E. Lee, American General

A more interesting consideration is tolerance and impact. The decision between war/peace boils down to intolerance. Tolerance allows behaviour to be modified. The fear of acceptance is that freedom(s) will be lost. The concept of war is that freedom(s) can be protected/saved. If you take a good/hard look at modern politics you will see that there is strong globalist attitude where tolerance is expected and freedom is a secondary choice. But consider this :- If you are in a war there is a good chance you will die and consequently, for you, the world would then end, so what would be the point of freedom.
War stinks! But then again, so does an autocratic society.
Are you expecting a war from your armchair where other people die or are you phsycotic enough to want to get 'stuck in'

conflict and Peace are actually not self sustaining entities yet based variables - the end results of what has been carried out by potential of communities. What human beings sow they gain. If human beings save peace and unity with neighbours, there'll be non violent coexistence and in the event that they nurture conflict and hate (out of greed or envy), they'd finally end up beautiful in wars. the main problematical ingredient approximately this is, peace and unity could be nourished by potential of all events, to maintain cordiality. If purely some practiced the virtues and others yielded to greed and aims, then the single sided peace wall breaks up besides. So this is not needed that one and all could get hateful for a conflict, single spark would ignite the blaze!! To sustain peace against vagaries of united statesand downs that would shake communities, with the aid of prosperity and poverty, wellness and epidemics etc, rulers could be quite stepped forward and balanced. yet human nature being what this is, such peace isn't even sustained between blood kinfolk, to no longer talk of a homophilous team like a linguistic or territorial or non secular team! A single bitter episode would shatter the entire edifice of sturdy integrity outfitted by potential of custom - E.g., the territorial and non secular wars around the globe over centuries. Peace is nearly an entire moon that is held for 12 hours. On break of day of here day it starts dropping its brightness, on a daily basis dropping its effulgence, ultimately misplaced in the recent moon nighttime!! Our histories tutor that unclear human suggestions can hardly ever save its balanced behaviour on the least tilt of its fortune, in favour of the neighbour!!

I don't agree that it is vanity to "pretend" that we want peace. I think we really WOULD prefer to live in a peaceful society, without all the wars, starvation, and killing in the name of whatever. Why can't we just all get along? (Like Jack Nicholson's president character asks the Martians in Mars Attacks)

Correct all we know is war because that is all that is given us. Not a good reason but people get fed up and get what they want. I would say politicians usually get what they want. If your hungy you might kill for food or now a days kill cause your bored. If us as people were aloud to know everything then i think as a hole we would change whats going on. There will always be war or some kind. But i hope for peace.

I would love to say peace. But the only way to peace is war. We need to stop crazy extremists and weed out people who cause the world to be peaceless.
