The name is Azreal,

When the four Archangels stand at their compass points their shadows reach into the middle and within the darkest point of the shadow Azreal is seen, he takes you home, at your transition, cutting with his silver sythe the silken cord that binds your spirit to the physical form and then guides you towards the light.

Azreal is the Angel Of Death.

mind you the name is kinda cute, (God has a great sense of humour)

Because he has the sober task of reaping in the souls of the recently dead.

I prefer the Death in the Terry Pratchett novels.

It is a fact that although the Death of the Discworld is, in his own words, an ANTHROPOMORPHIC PERSONIFICATION, he long ago gave up using the traditional skeletal horses, because of the bother of having to stop all the time to wire bits back on.
