the brush and the fiberglass rods will go through the turns!!! thats why they only put 30 degree elbows in the chimney run!! so they can be cleaned! there should never be a 45 or 90 degree elbow anywhere in a chimney that you cannot access or disassemble the pipe!!we have 5 wood burning stoves in my family and we use the brush and fiberglass poles!! they will go through a 30 degree turn with a little extra push !! make sure the poles are tightly screwed together and keep turning the poles in the tightening direction as you clean the flu to make sure they dont come unscrewed!!

Bummer. Can you configure the brush with two chains or some such and having one person on top, the other underneath and pull the brush through the curves?

Can you disassemble some of the pipes to get better penetration? That's how we'd do it. We taped a bag at the bottom where the ash would fall and scrubbed from the top. The disassembled pipes were cleaned separately.

Of course if the pipes are enclosed in a chimney.........time to call a chimney sweep!

We've always used a brick and alot of chicken wire wrapped around the brick with a long durable rope. I don't know if this will make your turn but it is fairly pliable and will knock alot of soot off the sides.
