We go to bed early because the Easter Bunny comes to visit and leaves baskets of candy....but only if we're asleep!

Easter falls on April 8 this year. In the United States, children have fun decorating easter eggs and then hiding and hunting the eggs. Their families may get together and fix a big dinner like at Thanksgiving. Also, they may have a barbecque in some parts of the country (weather permitting, of course). A lot of people like to go to church on Easter Sunday.

Easter, the Sunday of the Resurrection, or Resurrection Day, is the most important religious feast of the Christian liturgical year, observed between late March and late April (early April to early May in Eastern Christianity).
In Western Christianity, Easter marks the end of the forty days of Lent, a period of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter which begins on Ash Wednesday.
Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, which his followers believe occurred on the third day after his death by crucifixion some time in the period AD 27 to 33 (after Good Friday).
In the Roman Catholic Church, Easter is actually an eight-day feast called the Octave of Easter.
Activities: My family has always engaged in hiding plastic eggs filled with candy, for the kids to hunt and find.
Thereafter, the family would sit down to an early dinner, on the par with Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Then we would lounge around the rest of the day, nibbling on leftovers.

Easter is on April 8th this year. Christians go to Sunday Easter services. In the US, people who observe Easter usually spend time with family, and go out to eat. They give Easter baskets full of chocolates and candy to children, and have Easter egg hunts, where they hide candy and eggs around that children have to hunt for and find. Coloring, decorating, and dying hard-boiled Easter Eggs is also a tradition.

Easter is Sunday April 8th this year. Every family celebrates differently, but most traditionally we have a nice ham dinner, and hide easter baskets for the kids to find in the morning. The night before we usually dye eggs, and then after dinner on Easter Sunday we hide them in the backyard and look for them :)

Color enought eggs for a dozen per person....this is usually enough to eat and have fun with. Find a hill and roll Easter Eggs. The first egg down to the bottom is the winner...take the eggs back up to the top and do this over until all eggs are gone....note... when the shell and white files off is when the fun begins...the yoke is faster and always wins. Each person keeps points.

Easter is Sunday, April 8th. Most religous people go to church on Easter. For the non-religous they still get together with family and have ham for dinner and sometimes paint hard-boiled eggs and hide them in the yard so the kids can find them.

Easter is the holiday made by catholics to bring pagans into the religion. it is how most Christians (Orthodox not being part of most) celebrate what we call Pascha (pas-ka) (i think that's how it is spelled). Easter was a pagan goddess of spring (thus the images of rabbits and eggs) so by calling the celebration of Christ's Resurrection by name familiar to the pagans, it would bring in more followers. pretty much, all you do for Easter is hide eggs in a yard or park and watch little kids find them. i prefer Pascha more because it is the original celebration of Christ's coming back to life. Easter is celebrated on the same day as Pascha this year but usually they are on different days. if you know how people decide when Pascha is (the Sunday after Jewish passover) then all there is left to know is that one of the changes that the catholics made was using different criteria to decide when they will celebrate the Resurrection of Crist. as Orthodox, we have kept the same traditions that we have had for hundreds of years. i hope this helped and "Christos Anesti"

Most Catholics go to church on Easter and just chill at home. If you have little kids you might go to an Easter egg hunt or get their picture with the "Easter Bunny".
