No that isn't lying. That is what you say to someone you see when ever you are like "hello how are you?" is what you would say to someone.

No. I always say hello to people, even if I don't know them. Its just being friendly. Where I live most people say hello, and mean it

how is saying hello a lie? it is a greeting not an answer to something and not a suggestion so that makes no sense!
