I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone....I believe in God and I believe he created Heaven and Earth.....but even if you do believe in God....how can you not still wonder??? It's absolutely amazing to me......I really hope God explains it to me when I die!!! I will finally have peace! Don't get all snappy and tell me to read the bible....I never said anything negative towards God....it's just a question.....

Hey, Kim. The problem we humans have is that we tend to think in human ways. God is Spirit. He isn't bound by the same things we humans are bound by (like time and distance). He created time and distance. For God to have "gotten here" would imply that there was a time before God, and someone who created God. Both are incorrect. God was here before time was here. And God created everything we know of.
I agree that if you try to figure it out the same way you solve an algebra problem, it will drive you insane. But that is because it it solved with faith, not with physical things. You know God is there because all of His creation declares his glory. Even we humans have a built in yearning to know our Creator. And everyone of us can know Him by accepting His Son Jesus Christ as our Savior and our Lord.
Find a Bible believing church near you and go there. Ask the pastor how to know God the Father by knowing Jesus the Son. He will be pleased to tell you all about it. It is the only decision you will ever make that will last throughout eternity.
In Him,

I guess we use the word god to mean - something or somebody that has much much more knowledge and skill than ourselves. So God was able to create things that we were not able to do at that time.
But imagine a 21st century man travelling back to the year 40ad. He would no doubt be called a god by many people if he just brought back a little technology with him.
The ability to create all these miracles and incredable power sourses etc. has always been possible, it just wasn't known about all those years ago.
So maybe in the distant future we will learn the technology that will allow us to create and manipulate life, would that make us gods? would the life we created in many many years time write books about us the creators and our existance disapear into tales and myths and legends.

Maybe god is just a very advanced being that decided to be creative, and here we are, maybe we will repeat the cycle in the future. I guess though that such a brill creator does deserve to be worshiped.

I truly looooove to think about the enormous magnitude of space and how little we really are. It makes me wonder every time how it is even remotely possible to exist as a tiny, very vulnerable human and yet build spacecraft and huge ships and planes, we dig complete channels and tunnels and be build the impossible, but nothing is as amazing as space. The hugeness, ... the idea that there is no end to space is impossible, but the idea that there is an end to space is just as impossible... I love that kind of thing.. makes me wish that star trek is real sometimes. Makes me want to get on a space-shuttle and go explore... there must be millions of galaxies out there with all kinds of interesting things to see and learn that would puzzle and confuse and inspire us even more... Care to join me..?? No all fun aside.. every now and again I wonder if space really is finite or not... and how then... and indeed where did God come from if he is there... :) So yes, I do wonder and I am dumbfounded... regularly... :)

Man has always had a problem with unanswerable questions, since as far back as the time when the brain was enough developed to where he could contemplate his own existence. But with growing ingenuity, Man solved this difficulty. When a question defied an answer, he simply invented one. Hence, Man invented God to explain what had invented HIM.
Humanity has had thousands and thousands of years to build on that original little bit of fiction, to where it was able to create a very very elaborate fairy story, the one that children have for centuries been brainwashed into believing.
Some of us, on the other hand, when we confront an unaswerable question, do not waste any of our precious short lifespan worrying over it, but move on to other things. We are not in any danger of being driven "insane" by such nonsense. Life IS short, and we live it as comfortably as we can manage to make it be. One day, some day, some or all of these questions may be answered, and the answers known to everybody alive at that time. But I know one thing for sure. I am not going to drive myself nuts worrying about it to the point where I will accept anything anybody tells me. Unless they can come up with some damn good evidence for what they want me to believe. It is NOT good enough for me for somebody to say "You have to believe t his or that because it's the truth"? " Oh yeah? Who's truth, yours? I always want to say. Every religious fanatic on the planet wants you to believe that HE has "the truth" and everybody else is wrong. LOLOL No thanks, say I. I will walk my own path, think my own thoughts and draw my own conclusions, because there are soooo many people out there who say they have "the truth" that I am betting mine is as good as theirs any day.

I have grown up in a christian home and at a Christian summer camp. I can try to shead some light into all the gray area. There are so many questions in this world that go unanswered. We must have faith and trust it the lord our god. He reviles himself to us everyday. Also when life roller coasters seem to go up and down, we must thank our lord god for all the things he has given to us and is doing in our lives. In the bible it says "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Try going to church one Sunday. You don't have to announce your self until you are ready and have found a good church with the same goals and people you enjoy being around. Try a bible church or I go to a Baptist church even though I am just a christian.

scientists have the big bang theory,,,(so did one of my girlfriends) No one will ever know for sure,,because no one was around, billions of years ago. As for the question, about where God came from,, I have the same question, and i do not believe there is an
answer, I group that subjsect with santa, and the easter bunny,,makes as much sense to me. I believe what we are brainwashed in to believeing,, then when we are wise, we question the brainwashing, and would rather hear the truth., or, simply do ur own thinking,,,,THAT is wisdom!!!!

It IS totally mind-boggling. Then you get into the 'well, if there are things so microscopically tiny we can't see them, and stars so vastly huge we can't even really comprehend them, HOW SMALL ARE WE REALLY? Does the Universe end? Is it just a tiny mote in a speck of dust behind the equivalent of a microwave in a world so much bigger it goes beyond anything we can even begin to discern as reality...????'

It is all a matter of random occurance. If you consider the fact that time is infinite, then every possible situation will take place eventually. Hence the universe yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.

God is uncreated. By definition of God, He cannot be created, He is above all.

How he created the universe, well... He is God. We cannot understand it, it probably cannot be explained anyway because He created it out of nothing.
