Hi. I read that the Pentium M can run at 1.6GHz but that is not a vast improvement. I would start saving!

Celleron can go to 1.8. Interesting thing is if you are going to do it yourself and you don't worry much about battery life you may be able to install P4.

If you search for dell support site, you can find step by step instructions how to install processor. You also can buy the instructions for 10-12 $ from some sites.

Other thing you might want to do is goto dell outlet site. You can find a latitude with new processor for 300-400$. The CPU is going to cost you 100$ any way. But I will say recycle the old one. Open and fix and you will have new satisfaction.

at the beginning your Dell variety D520 is a pc. you won't be able to enhance the CPU on a pc, as in maximum circumstances it fairly is soldered to the motherboard. additionally your Dell variety D520 is an older type pc (what they call a dinosaur - 9 years previous), so regardless of if possible a CPU replace does not provide any substantial progression in overall performance. given which you talk approximately kilos... i will end on a extremely humorous word: all the king's horses and all the king's guy can by no capacity make a extra ideal pc from that lower back. purely recycle it and save the planet then bypass purchase a extra cutting-edge pc.
