I told my friend there has been some rumors going around about her. I told her what they are. It was that she always gets what she wants and if she doesn't get what she wants they she complains about it. It's so annoying so now she's all mad at me.

Are you a real friend? 1st you listen to the rumor and then 2cd you continue the rumor and then 3rd you agree with the rumor as a friend why did you not tell her as coming from you and not as a rumor to make you feel better about feeling that way about her
I have a friend that is that way everything goes her way or not but as her friend I know she is that way and so I chose to stay friends with her I dont have to but I am not going to try to change her either and I have said things before and it was like water off a ducks back so either you are a friend or your not dont try to change her so take charge of your life and dont let people talk about your friends

There's nothing wrong with telling her what the rumors are so that she can address them better but if she really is like what the rumors say, I don't know how much of a friend she is. After all, she's mad at the "messenger

Your friend is mad in general and will take it out on you because you are the one that told her. That is where the expression "don't kill the messenger" comes from. In ancient times, messengers who delivered news were often killed to keep the news from travelling.

When a person is told something upsetting, that person goes into defensive mode and has a hard time separating the shock of the news from the intention of the person telling them.

Give her time.

If she is mad at you for that, then she doesn't respect you as a true friend. She should be happy with someone who is honest. She will get over it and hopefully appreciate your honesty!

FIRST OFF , SHE SHOULDN'T BE MAD AT YOU AT ALL!!! MAYBE SHE TOOK IT THE WRONG WAY. TALK TO HER ABOUT IT AND LET HER KNOW YOU ARE TRULY HER FRIEND BECAUSE YOU LET HER KNOW WHAT WAS BEING SAID . FOR THE RECORD , SHE WAS MAD BECAUSE IT WAS MOST LIKELY TO BE TRUE WHAT WAS SAID!!

Yes you did something wrong. You gossiped and would have been better of just keeping things to yourself.
