i would say theses are.

what is life?

what is the meaning of life?

what is love?

how will the world end?

god vs evolution?

i think the above questions are shallow and incredibly unoriginal. they are also very boring. it seems like alot of people on this forum are driven by emotions when in reality philosophy is about intellectual thought WITHOUT the emotions. and no one asks any questions pertaining to actual philosophy and the ones that do get back opinionated foundationless answers who misunderstand philosophy. would you agree?

Let's put it this way, Q:

If you are not patient with your lessers, how can you reasonably expect your superiors to be patient with you?

Peace.

I agree with the list of most common questions... and yes I also agree they are unoriginal....

But I do not agree with your description of Philosophy.... Philosophy is more than just intellectual thought... and emotions are part of life, part of nature, part of everything....
Philosophy tries to understand the worlds around us and tries to explain why things are and why.... Emotions take a big role on explaining some of the biggest enigmas of human kind... Just like the meaning of life, or what exatly is love all about, or even something less emotional but rather more complicated >>> what's right, the creationists or evolution...

And thats why those questions are overly used..... People really want to know the answer to them.... and actually, the answer to this questions end up answering 1000s of other questions regarding human life, purpose, and nature...

Why wouldn't they keep asking the same? if those are the essential question of life...

Anyways... at last, that's just my opinion right?
and Philosophy is all about opinions of how and why things work in a certain way... and ok... lets face it... I am opinionated and without foundation... but what good philosopher started with some kind of foundation? why believe in what have been discovered... I am always open that we (humans) know almost nothing....

Hope that helps!

Another question often asked is......if a tree falls in a Forrest and no one is there to hear it, does it still make a sound

I do get frustrated that the same basic questions get asked, but then I think about the people asking who are most likely new to philosophy and asking the basic universal that have been asked for generations.

Philosophy is not an absolute science and mankind will ask the same questions over and over again.

I would agree that you have the right to voice your opinion.
I would also state that the reason that these questions are seen so much is because they are the burning questions in the minds of YOUNG people. That philosophy is so esoteric, and so little understood, that these seem to be the right kind of questions to ask by people who are slogging their way through, and into, understanding.
For myself, I have some little experience with philosophy....little....and it bothers me not at all that so many people ask the same questions, over and over. Ellis and Voltaire BOTh adhered to tolerance, as well as Plato.

Philosophy is like trying to open a safe with a combination lock: each little adjustment of the dials seems to achieve nothing, only when everything is in place does the door open......Ludwig Wittgenstein.

With that I agree, not with you!0!
