Tsk.

A degree doesn't guarantee that anyone is good at anything. I have a doctorate myself and I can assure you that it doesn't even vaugely give me anything like a monopoly on good ideas, even within its scope.

I would trust the people on Yahoo... because you get more answers and you just have to pick the most logical one for you... A person w/ a degree in philosophy is still one person and only one opinion... Keep your mind open to as many opions as you can... No one know for sure the right answer to everything or anything...
I have met some great, smart, deep, and very intelligent people here in Yahoo! Answers and some have earned my respect and I always look forward to seeing their opinion... I know their opinions are better than any person's opinion w/ a degree in philosophy I know of...

Hope that Helps!

The older philosophers were just people like us...trying to figure it out. Some of them were real close, real good and some missed the mark, completely. There's an awful lot of 'great stuff' on this site. Keep an open mind...keep reading, learning. To snap up a belief system, one philosopher's view, can be a narrow world...stunts growth.

Even the so-called 'simple people' can be profound. Small children blurt out things that are right on target!!

Socrates was curious about everything and lived his life asking endless questions. That is the life to live...open, open open!!!

Wisdoms is always available and is wonderful in the forms it takes.'There are some amazing minds in our present day. Tony Parson's 'Open Secret", Bob Adamson's "What's Wrong with Right Now, Unless I think About It, Eckhart Tolle's "Power of Now" to name a few.

I would get the biggest cup of coffee I can find, because any philosophy expert would drone on and on and on and never say anything.
