I can be clear, but normally the closer you are to labor it will be blood tinged or streaked. you can also lose it in little pieces or in large pieces, some lose it over a period of time others right when labor is happening. it is all different and depends on each pregnancy. a lot of women don't even realize they have lost it

The mucus plug can be clear. They say that most women who pass a clear or while mucus plug don't even really notice it with how much discharge women pass at the end of pregnancy. The only way I remember passing mine was that after I passed what I thought was alot of discharge, I started spotting. On an early comment where someone mentioned a greenish plug, I've been told that in that case you can have an infection and need to call a doctor right away.

Mucus Plugs can be clear as well as having blood, so if you passed it clear, it is probably that. Mine was clear when I went into labor with my son.
Some women think the plug will look solid like a cork, but it is actually stringy mucus or discharge. It can be clear, pink or blood tinged and can appear minutes, hours or even days before labor begins. Not all women notice this sign.
