Because your views are inconsistent at best. You parade the Bill of Rights as if it were your own party banner... except that whole matter of the 2nd Amendment.
At worst most "liberal" (a misnomer if you ask me) policy is directed at sacrificing individual freedom and responsibility on the altar of a fictitious communal society.
It's been tried in many parts of the world, and it has universally led to misery for billions of people.

Protecting rights such as the right to not have the government seize your private property? It's guaranteed by the Amendment 5, but Hillary Clinton is promising to take the oil company profits anyway....

We do get you. We just don't agree with you.
If you want to protect people's rights, start by disowning the ACLU. They've done more to erode the right to freedom of religion in this country than any other organization.
What people's right is protected by banning foie gras?
What rights of the unborn do you want to protect?

Many people disagree on what "rights" should be allowed.
It's part of the core philosophical difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals support individual rights, even at the expense of some community stability. Conservatives want community stability and conformity, even if that means taking personal choice and individual liberties away from people.
Both are valid. And both can be taken to the extremes.

"Rights"to a conservative is only what they can encroach upon others by their religion. They play the "moral card" to conceal what in fact they are doing. It was never about rights, a very "liberal" concept indeed.
If it were not for liberals they still might be burning heretics at the stakes.

Why don't liberals get us conservatives. All we want is what's best for everyone. You would think they would understand that.

What rights are you trying to protect? You take away people's property rights, right to bear arms, right to life (because you're pro-abortion), right to keep what they earn from their jobs (by having an increase in income tax for people who earn more money), etc.
Please explain what rights you're trying to protect. All I see you guys doing is taking rights away.

Its not misunderstood, just not agreed with. You guys are so off the wall we dont trust you. Something simple, thanks to dems we have to wear a seatbelt. What happened to my right to choice? I get it you want to protect me, because I am too stupid to protect myself. If I forget to wear it and die, its my fault. Thats called responsability.
