My situation is very serious. I'm a Navy wife. My husband was stationed in Japan for three years, while I was alone in Florida giving birth to our son who is now 31/2. He never wanted to have a joined account, but he did send me money. He now lives here in Florida and we are legally seperated after finding out he's been cheating through our entire marriage. I want to know what money I am entitled to and how do I go about finding out what his pay including BAH is? I feel like he's living good while me and our son are struggling. Does he get BAH depending on his dependents?

you can get child support and a portion of his BAH -go to Navy legal-but do it for your kid try and be civil-not because you are mad at your husband-you could get him into trouble with the navy the kind that could get him kicked out and then you would recieve nothing

I am an EX Navy wife now and my ex sounds alot like yours. Go up his chain of command right now. Please dont waste any time. Gather every shred of evidence that you can find about his "indiscretions" (cheating etc...) Go to Navy legal. They can be very helpful. Or obtain a lawyer if you can afford it.
If he is still getting BAH while you two are legally separated, then he can get into big trouble. That money is to maintain a household for his FAMILY. I had similar issues with my ex after we separated. He was still getting BAH and I damn sure wasn't seeing a dime to keep a roof over the heads of our three children. One good thing about him being in the Navy is they WILL make him pay his child support. I get an allotment on the 1st of every month. If you have any more questions, you can email me! I really feel for you. I have been there. I was halfway aroudn the world living on Guam when my ex dropped the big "D" word on me (divorce).
Keep your chin up. It WILL get better!!

You are entitled to child support, based on his salary. Yes, he gets BAH (housing allowance) based on the fact that he has dependents. That will probably be adjusted if he gets divorced, however. His pay is on a set scale based on his rank, which is pretty easy to find on the internet. The BAH is based on where he lives, and the cost of living there. You can probably find a BAH chart on the internet, too, but if not try the local housing office on the base where he is stationed. If you can't get that info, a divorce lawyer will be able to.
Good luck!

I cant remember is Bah- married pay or is it the housing pay, Sorry all of the military abbreviations are confusing. My husband is in the Airforce and we are in fort walton beach florida. Yes he gets bah depending on his dependents. I think that if he still has you singed on his bah then you may be able to call the base and find out what's going on with his pay, and if you and the baby are still on their he could get in huge trouble with the military, and Im pretty sure they are supposed to be made to pay child support after a divorce.

You need to tell someone of higher authority in the navy about what has been going on. The same thing happened to my mother also. Her husband was cheating on her while he was off and away for "Business!" Take it to high command because that is definitly not fair to you and your child!

Good luck!

Yes he does and you are entitled to it. The housing allowance is for his family not his girlfriend. If he is cheating on you and you can prove it go to his commander and let them know. He will be in trouble with the military code of ethics and you can also receive his housing allotment(including back TDY pay). See the base lawyers for detailed explanation.

AT LEAST HIT HIM WITH CHILD SUPPORT, HE MIGHT CONTEST HIS PARENTHOOD BUT DNA WILL PREVAIL. DEPENDING ON THE STATE YOU WERE IN IF LIVING TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS CONSTITUTES COMMON LAW MARRIAGE, THEN GO TO THE OFFICES OF THE NAVY AND SEEK HELP THERE HIS COMMANDING OFFICER WILL SEE THAT HE COMES TROUGH WITH CHILD SUPPORT.

you need to go talk to JAG( military lawyers) right now about all your rights and everything. You are entitled to that money and so is your son but If I were you I would divorce his ass as soon as you can.

I would also call the Navy too. Tell them exactly what is happening. If you can, talk to his commanding officer! They will listen to you.
