you DO NOT use it at the last second.

you signal it at least 100 feet before you make the turns.

That's what that lever is for on the left side of the wheel thingy?
OMG!
I heard that made a light go on and off: I even tried it once. But how does that little blinking light on the dashboard thingy help me drive the car?

No, really! I always stop the car before I turn to measure how far away I am from where I am going to turn. After I'm sure that I am the correct distance away, I get back in my car and sound my horn, fire a shotgun, and put on the correct directional. Then I make sure that there is no one about to do the same thing then I start the car again and move forward about 99 feet. Then I turn the car. OK?

OMG are there people out there using YA while they are driving there car?

I agree! I always signal at least 100 feet before turning. It pisses me off when others don't do that. Twice I nearly got into a damn accident because people don't know how to use their damn turning signals! One of which I had my three nieces and my one nephew in the car, I held down the damn horn and was yelling out the window. Please everyone, drive safely and responsible. Driving is a privilege not a right so drive safely, if not for others than for yourself.

What bugs me most is when I want to pull onto the road, but see a car coming, with a corner between me and it. I wait for the car to pass me first. And then at the last second, that car flips on their signal and turns the corner. I could have pulled out and been on my way if I'd known they were going to turn.

Idiots.

I thought you were suppose to turn your signal light on after you already made your turn and than to keep it on for miles and miles after that.

Putting your signal light on 100 feet before your turn only works in country areas, you'll never get away with that in the city.

I agree with you. I'll keep that in mind when I get on the road in 2 years. I know, how the hell is someone supposed to know if you're going to turn right or left, huh? Maybe they did that, got their licenses, didn't practice it enough, and got the way they are today.

I have stopped using them during lane changes since EVERY time I did, idiots would speed up and close any gaps. I was not able to change lanes while using them so I stopped. I do use them when making right or left turns though.

Maybe if people would quit being such rude jerks, people might go back to using them.

i dont like to use them cause i think that its funny when people dont know that you are turning thats how you can tell if they are paying attention to the road or not. If they hit you then there not. And its not the people that dont use turn signals that cause all the accients, its the ones with the cell phones that people have to worry about.

YEAH! Damn! This especially sucks if you're a pedestrian and you're waiting to cross the damn street in the dead of winter and ya see a car coming and you're waiting..... waiting.... waiting... and then whoops! Right at the Intersection, they turn their blinker on.

Also, I have 2 words for all the dumba$$e$ out there: BLIND SPOT. Check it once in a while.

I think it's 50 feet in new york at least. Signaling too far in advance can be confusing if you're passing more than one drive, etc.
The bloody irish seem to have forgotten they exist for sure.
