I think they will be a middle of the pack type team 8-8 or 9-7 especially given the division they play in. I like Huard as QB, he seems to read defenses really well and gets rid of the ball in a timely manner and seems to make really good decisions.

My concern would be the workload of LJ...if the Chiefs don't get a backup to spell him he is going to be done and rather soon...see Priest Holmes. The WR's aren't anything special but thank goodness for Tony Gonzalez at least the QB knows he can be relied upon. The OL is in transition from what I understand but the Chiefs do develop good tackles and guards, so I wouldn't be concerned in this area.

I do like the way the Chief defense has turned around, they are getting better and it is a young defense save for 1 or 2 players.

The Chiefs are a team in transition right now and for the foreseeable future I guess you need to be patient.

Is it football season yet???????

I always respected Trent Green for what he did as a Chief. And now, unfortunately, he will likely leave the team. Damon Huard needs to step up like he did in 2006. LJ is one of the best backs in the league, so no worry there. WR position needs to upgrade (last few years have been lacking); the Chiefs need to draft a good wide-out. O-line is slowly drifting away, even though it has been the best in the NFL for the last 3 years. Lastly, the defense improved last year, but still needs help from the draft. Sad to say, I don't see Kansas City making the playoffs this year (they'll get close but it won't be enough). :(

I think the Chiefs can return to the playoffs, they won't win the division, if they solve a few key issues. They need to bolster the left tackle spot, can't have guys breathing down Huards neck. That gets me to my next point - trade Green while we can still get something for him, a couple draft picks maybe. Improvement is need at the CB and DT positions and we need a true #1 wide receiver. If they can get better at DT and can stuff the run better next season, I'd say they improve by 2 wins to 11-5.

I think the only reason they're not going to be at the bottom of their division is because Oakland is taking up that spot. There's no way they're going to be able to keep up with SD or Denver this year.

The QB situation is similar to that of the redskins a couple of years ago with Brunell and Ramsey.

Their one decent reciever is aging quickly.

Their magical return specialist is going to be quiet again this year.

Which leaves their defense to pick up the slack which they are no where near capable of doing.

Maybe if they have an excellent draft and do some last minute free agent moves they may have a chance at the playoffs.

The Chiefs need to reserve a quarterback for the future. Damien Huard is 31 or 32 years young. They need more wide receivers that could separate themselves arounf from cornerbacks. They need to utilize Dante Hall as a receiver more often. He's a fantastic player with acrobatic moves.

I think they will be older and LJ will be tired from carrying the ball too much. They have choice really of unproven Croyle or extremely veteran and well traveled Collins. Green has one foot out of the door and the other on a banana peel. They failed to address a playmaker at receiver in free agency. The defense also has a limited amount of playmaking ability. They need to draft for the DL, LB, and WR positions in first day. I would go after a pass rusher in the first round, a receiver in the second, and a linebacker in third. In the second day, they can address depth issues at OL and CB.

Well i think we improved since lastyear. Our Linebackers have improved since we got Napoleon Harris and Donnie Edwards back. We need to find a wideout who can contribute. Since Huard was qb'ing he threw the ball to Kennison more and thats why i think he was 5-1 as a starter. Need to use the wideouts more since Tony G can't do it all. I think we need to be younger at qb and Huard is the best fit. But i think we need to bring in another Qb. Maybe Carr. He is moble and young. He got sacked alot because no o-line. Our o-line is alright and he could be a possible pro-bowler. who knows. Im excitied for next year. I got the Cubs to worry about now. Go Chiefs.

They need to draft a quality HB or sign a guy who can spell Larry Johnson and be productive. If they don't he'll be finished in 5 years. They made some moves to improve their defense, and with some real wide receivers, they should make some noise in the AFC.

I think the Chiefs are going to suck as long as Herm Edwards is the head coach. Just ask the Jet's fans, they're extremely happy that Herm's gone.
